The L’Arche de Jean Vanier Association has a mission to make known, through sharing and community life, the abilities and gifts of people with an intellectual disability and to enable them to take their rightful place in society. Quatorze worked with L’Arche to build a new workshop in Grasse to replace the existing space which was much too small. The new workshop is a low building with a covered area of 46.5m2, only half of which will be enclosed. The structure does not alter the land a part from the light foundation it requires. This new workshop will be made entirely of wood with natural varnish and some metal elements joining the different structural elements will be visible. Prefabricated in the workshop, the structure will be assembled on-site in a participative manner.
